Tux Preferences
While most tuxedos are made out of wool fabric which offers the best look and feel to the attire, if you are having your wedding somewhere with a cold climate the 100% wool fabric is warm and stylish!
When it comes to the jacket a general rule to remember is the fewer the buttons the more formal the attire. This isn’t necessarily a rule to live by but it is something to remember if you are attending such a formal event.
And there is no need for you to remember all the rules and requirements when the specialist at The Tuxedo Gallery are here to help you. Just let us know what event you will be attending and we will take care of the rest. Helping our neighbors in Napa look their best for any event is always our number one goal! If you’re looking for tuxedo rentals near me, you don’t have to look very far. The Tuxedo Gallery is happy to serve all of Santa Rosa and our neighboring cities like Napa, Ukiah, Fulton, Middletown, Sonoma and Windsor!
Tuxedo Plackets
Plackets are a part of the clothing where the buttons or fastenings go, it is a thin strip of fabric that runs down the front of the garment. Don’t worry if you don’t know which kind of plackets you need or should have. Our stylists will help you with everything! From you jackets, to your plackets and even your tuxedo vests.
Front Placket is the most common type and involves a piece of fabric being folded over and sewn down to provide a long even rectangle where the buttons go.
No Placket is also known as the French Front. There is no folded fabric on this one and it offers a very clean look.
Covered Placket is where the buttons are hidden underneath the fabric. Also known as a fly front. This is a more formal look.
Tuxedo Front offers versatility. The top four buttons of this are removable and can be replaced by tuxedo studs which is also a very formal look.
Neck-wear For Tux’s
Traditionally wearing a tuxedo means pairing it with a bow tie. But that doesn’t mean that is what everyone has to do. In general suit and ties go together and tuxedos and bow ties go together. But whatever you want to wear we will help make sure you wear it the best. You also have the choice of what fabric you want your tie to be made of. Silk is a personal choice and can be found at most high end men’s stores. But a satin bow tie adds a very clean look and is great for seasonal weddings. Either way, never forget about your neck wear it is just as important as the rest of the attire. The Tuxedo Gallery has a wide assortment of neck wear and in over 100 colors. So no matter the time of the year or the color scheme of the wedding or event, our stylists will help you in picking out the most appropriate and stylish option.
